Matt Norton has been pastor of First Baptist Church since December 2007.  He is not new to FBC Pine Bluff.  He served as Interim Youth Pastor at FBC from October 2000 to July 2001 before moving to Fort Worth, Texas, to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He received a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages in May 2004 from Southwestern.  While in seminary, he pastored churches in Mineral Wells and Bridgeport, Texas.  He is currently working on his Ph.D. in Preaching and Old Testament from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Matt is married to Rachel (DeBusk) Norton, a former Pine Bluff native.  They have five children – four boys and a girl.
